Dartington Crystal

For over 50 years the Dartington has been creating beautiful and inspiring crystal and glassware. Our story began in 1967 when Swedish glassmakers used their hand making skills and made Dartington the renowned brand it is today. Famous for its elegant, minimalist Scandinavian style and aesthetics Dartington now remains the UK’s only large-scale crystal producer. Still using traditional techniques each piece that leaves the factory has been thoughtfully and lovingly designed for its functionality and universal appeal.

Alongside iconic handmade crystal Dartington offers a range of exclusively designed in England handmade glassware sitting alongside durable and functional machine-made drinkware, upholding its principles of creating inspired, joyful, and memorable crystal and glass products. Caithness Glass producing colourful art glass in Scotland, and Royal Brierley Crystal world famous for handmade cut crystal now manufactured in Devon, are both part of the Dartington family.

Additionally, Dartington offer handmade glass collections designed in England and produced by selected European artisans, as well as durable machine-made drinkware. Throughout its rich history, the business has remained true to its founding principles, creating inspired crystal and glass that bring joy to homes and make memorable gifts, carrying forward a legacy of English craftsmanship and Scandinavian design.

Caithness Glass

Since 1961, Caithness Glass has established a proud tradition of fine glassmaking in the far north of Scotland. Initially producing coloured vases and bowls in contemporary styles, the company introduced its first limited edition paperweights, ‘The Planets Set’, designed by Colin Terris in 1962. These groundbreaking abstract creations and subsequent designs propelled Caithness Glass to the forefront of modern paperweight design.

Today, the company maintains its position as a world leader in designing and producing collectable glass paperweights and gifts. Each unique piece is a work of art, designed by talented artists and individually handcrafted to the highest standards by skilled makers at the Crieff factory, upholding Caithness Glass’s legacy of exceptional craftsmanship.

Royal Brierley

England’s most famous crystal brand, Royal Brierley is the longest established name in English Crystal. Founded in 1776, as an independent family business, the heritage of Royal Brierley spans almost 250 years and 15 generations. In the next chapter of its illustrious history, Royal Brierley is now honoured and extremely proud to announce that the brand has been awarded the King’s Royal Warrant after holding the Prince of Wales Warrant since 1985.

The proud tradition began in 1919 when the first Warrant was granted to Royal Brierley by King George V and has since continued with renewal by each successive Monarch. This recognition from the Royal Households is a testament to the work and precision within every exquisite hand-made piece of Royal Brierley cut crystal. The meticulous detail every design is brought to life by a team of expert craftsmen whose skills have become recognised globally. As many as ten glass makers and technicians can be involved in the creation of a single piece of cut crystal. The levels of specialist expertise are never compromised – a core value of the brand today.
